![]() FYI, missing Apple msi files are a know issue that Apple has never fully addressed. So word to the wise, if you revert back to Win7, uninstall iTunes and it's associated support programs (see ) before you downgrade and then install a fresh copy in Win 7. Note that is that the msi version must match your installed iTunes. If you are lucky to have made a back up before the upgrade you restore it and point the installer to the new location. ![]() It finishes with some of my files missing to actually run iTunes (the original ones) and now for some reason, when i try to uninstall, it goes about 1/4 way into actually loading the installer, but dissapears. The reversion process appears does not update the registry and does restore the msi file to its original location leaving you to deal with "where the heck is the iTunes6464.msi" issue. Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information. Is suspect that the Win10 upgrade process moved the msi file to a temp folder and then writes the path to the registry. Windows could not locate the iTunes6464.msi, usually in an Apple Software Update folder. After reverting (both are Win Pro 64-bit) I was unable to either repair, update, or remove iTunes. Hope this helps someone.felt so good to finally solve my problem that I just had to share.Over the last two days I've reverted two of my 4 PCs back to Win7 and experienced the same problem with iTunes. It worked like a charm for me and now I have the latest iTunes installed and running fine. So if you're having this same problem with being unable to update due to a "missing msi file", read through the thread in the first link below, then read and follow the troubleshooting steps in the second link. There's a little bit of registry editing, but it isn't hard even though it may seem a little intimidating. It solved my problem, and so I just wanted to share the links here in case someone is having the same problem. I didn't see anything here on iMore, but in an unrelated thread someone directed towards the Apple support forums, where I did find my answer. ![]() I even used Tools>Download only in the Apple Software Updater, to where I had the actual iTunes6464.msi on my computer and it wouldn't recognize it. ![]() I kept getting an error that "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." It was looking for the file "iTunes6464.msi" and no matter what I did, it would not locate it. When I rolled back to 7, I could no longer get iTunes to update. So I had upgraded to Windows 10, then rolled back to 7. ![]()
